Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Sacred City of Kandy
This sacred Buddhist site, popularly known as the city of Senkadagalapura, was the last capital of the Sinhala kings. It is also the site of the Temple of the Tooth Relic (the sacred tooth of the Buddha), which is a famous pilgrimage site.
Kandy’s Royal Botanical Gardens, set amongst 147 acres and containing over 4000 plants, are a welcome green oasis from the bustling and occasionally overwhelming city. The gardens contain a number of different glasshouses, a large arboretum, and many ornamental flower beds.
Bentota Beach, located on Sri Lanka's southwestern coast, is a popular destination known for its golden sands, calm waters, and vibrant water sports scene. It is a great spot for relaxation, with opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and leisurely beach walks. Many species of fish and large turtles are found here.
Madu River Boat Ride
The bio-diversity of the Madu River is of monumental significance when considering the wide range of aquatic and avian life, as well as wetland-dwelling amphibians, reptiles, and mammals that inhabit this natural treasure.
A total of 11 species of aquatic mollusks and 14 land-dwelling mollusks are found in this system. 70 species of fish, 31 types of reptiles, and 50 kinds of butterflies are just some of the colorful array of wildlife that inhabits this abundantly thriving ecosystem.
Bird watchers will be pleased to know that 111 species of birds have been identified in the mangrove-formed environs of the river, which also hosts several types of migratory birds.
Galle
For centuries, Galle has stood strong against invasions from colonial powers and nature’s volatile outbursts. The famous Dutch Fort was first built by the Portuguese, fortified by the Dutch, and preserved by the British.
Battered daily for over 400 years by the ocean, it even survived the onslaught of a tsunami and is enjoyed today by residents and visitors alike. The colonial architecture of the walled city has resisted the advance of modernity and continues to hold tightly to its past glory.
Colombo
A drive through the city will take you to Fort and Pettah – the commercial area of the city – and the tree-lined Colombo 07 (Cinnamon Gardens). Colombo 3, 4, 5, and 8 are the prime residential areas of the city.
Visit Fort and Pettah for shopping, the Hindu Temple at Sea Street lined with goldsmith shops, the Dutch Church at Wolfendaal dating back to 1749, and the historic Davatagaha Mosque.
Other attractions include Independence Hall, B.M.I.C.H, the Zoological Gardens, and the National Museum, offering a glimpse into Colombo’s rich culture and heritage.
